“ How to Read a Boring Log for Water Resources Professionals”  by Jackeline Gastelo Watson, PE and Mabin Dahal, EIT from RK&K.

This presentation provides a technical deep dive into the information contained on a standard geotechnical boring log. The discussion will examine how lithologic descriptions, sampling intervals, SPT blow counts, grain-size characteristics, and groundwater observations are interpreted and translated into inputs for geotechnical analysis, modeling, and design. In addition, applicable Maryland standards and requirements for preparation and presentation of geotechnical boring logs will be discussed.
